Hinwa Prince Sinoh Allieu was born on December 9, 1997, in Makeni, Sierra Leone, West Africa to Prince and Mychaella (Luseni) Allieu and passed away on January 9, 2022, at the age of 24.
Hinwa was raised in Africa until he came to the United States in 2013 where he attended and graduated from The Avalon School in Maryland. He attended college at The University of Nebraska-Kearney, where he played football for the Lopers and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management.
It was at UNK where he met the love of his life, Katie Sermeno. They were united in marriage on November 11, 2020, and to this union a beautiful son was born, Maada Prince Allieu.
Hinwa learned to love the game of football and became serious about pursuing the opportunity to play in the NFL. He signed as a free agent with the Atlanta Falcons in April 2020 and made it to the final cuts with the team before being let go. Hinwa was often described as a gentle giant, always had a smile, and showed love to everyone he met. He was very driven and was always looking to improve his abilities in all his endeavors.
Hinwa is preceded in death by his grandparents, Columbia Sylvester Luseni, Marie Fofana and Foday Allieu.
Survivors cherishing his memory include his wife, Katie Allieu; son, Maada Allieu; parents, Prince and Mychaella Allieu; brother, Bockarie Allieu; sisters, Memu Conteh, Nyawa Allieu and Munjay Allieu.
