Ida Bertha Pleines was born August 12, 1906 in Ruby, Nebraska to Carl and Bertha (Schultz) Pleines and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on October 19, 2006 at the age of 100 years, 2 months and 9 days. She moved to Goehner, Nebraska at the age of 2. She was confirmed at the Friedens United Church of Christ in Goehner and graduated from Goehner High School in 1925. Ida worked for many years in the Don Pegler home in Lincoln. She enjoyed weaving, sewing, all handcrafts, flowers and gardening. She was a member of the Hand Weavers Guild of Lincoln and the Friedens United Church of Christ in Goehner. Ida was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Bertha (Schultz) Pleines, sisters, Elsie Pleines, Frieda Pleines, Ruth Wittmuss, Ella Thomas, 3 infant sisters, and her brother, Adolph Pleines. Ida is survived by her brother, George Pleines of Fort Dodge, IA, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
