Idamarie Annette (Langner) Brust was born January 18, 1920 in Seward, Nebraska to Otto and Bess (Gannon) Langner. She was an only child. She died May 15, 2011 at the age of 91 years, 3 months, 28 days. Idamarie lived in Seward her entire life before moving to Frisco, Texas three years ago to be near family. Idamarie graduated from Seward High School. On April 25, 1937 she married George L. Brust. George and Idamarie were married over 69 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, serving as deacon and elder. She was an active member of Presbyterian Women and a Sunday School teacher. Idamarie was a 60-plus year member and past president of the Federal of Women's Clubs of Seward, a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of Royal Neighbors of America. She had several jobs during her life. Idamarie wrote local news for both the Blue Valley Blade and Seward Independent. She also worked at Hughes Brothers, Rolfsmeier Dairy, J.C. Penney and Kolterman Ben Franklin. While in Seward she enjoyed bowling with the girls, Wednesday morning breakfasts, the Seward Country Club and was an avid fan of Big Red Football. In Frisco, she made many new friends at her residences and loved the activities at the Frisco Senior Center. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Idamarie is preceded in death by her parents, husband George Brust and grandson Scott Johnson. Survivors are stepbrother Ronnie Langner; daughters Pam Trank of Iowa City, IA and Bev and husband Ken Johnson of Frisco, TX; four grandchildren, Craig Johnson, Steven Johnson, Heather Haigh, Jessica Pierce; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
