Jacqueline Jean Hughes was born October 11, 1949 in Seward, Nebraska to J. Foster and Jean Claire (Gillan) Hughes and passed away at her home in Seward, Nebraska on November 2, 2010, at the age of 61 years, 22 days. Jackie was a 1967 graduate of Seward High School; she attended Concordia College and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Jackie was employed with Hughes Brothers Manufacturing in Seward; she retired in 2006 with 38 years of service. She was instrumental in the organization of the Seward High School Alumni Association; she was a member of Order of Eastern Star and attended the Seward United Methodist Church. Jackie was an avid Husker football fan. The 4th of July in Seward was a major event in Jackies life. She shared her home with many family members and friends for gatherings throughout the year. Jackie was a caring, loving friend and she particularly loved children. She will be remembered for her love of telling and sharing a good story and her dedication to sustaining her friendships through the years. Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, Fos and Jean Hughes. Survivors left to cherish Jackie's memory include her sisters and brothers-in-law, Patty Jane and Rick Roth of Seward and Sharon and Doyle Koch of Bennington; step-nieces, Angie Larsen of Broomfield, CO and Kristin Baumgartner of Highlands Ranch, CO; her aunts, Glenna B. Gillan and Joye Gillan, both of Seward; her uncle John A. Gillan of Spring Valley, CA; cousins and many friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers, and memories of life shared with Jackie. |
