James G. Berry was born on March 6, 1938, in Fargo, ND. He was adopted by James A. and Louise M. (Siebold) Berry and passed away on January 12, 2019, in Lincoln, NE, at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 6 days.

James was raised in Jamestown, ND where he attended and graduated from Jamestown High School with the Class of 1957. He then attended Jamestown College for one year. On January 4, 1958, he was united in marriage to Carrol L. Hahn at the Congregational Church in Jamestown. James worked at Sweetheart Bakery as a delivery driver for 10 years. The family moved to Schuyler, NE in 1970, where James worked for Schwans. The couple later moved to Elkhorn, WI, after James received a promotion with Schwans. James and Carrol returned to Nebraska where they settled in Goehner. He worked at AMA Truck Topper and then retired from Rolfsmeier Motors in 2005. James enjoyed collecting Ruger handguns, fishing and he could fix just about anything. He loved any Husker sport and enjoyed woodworking, watching NASCAR and the Green Bay Packers. He loved his family and enjoyed having his grandchildren around for family events.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carrol; son, Todd; grandson, Joshua and sister, Patricia McGinnis.

James is survived by his children, Jana Mangers and husband Bill, Lincoln, James Berry and wife Shannon, Waverly; daughter-in-law, Debra Berry, Osceola; grandchildren, Jon Berry and wife Amanda, Michelle Hopkins and husband Jimmy and their daughter, Hannah, Travis Mangers, Kristia Mangers, Alex Mangers, Emily Berry and J.T.
