James Roger Langner was born on April 28, 1931 in Seward, Nebraska to Herman Otto and Lola May (Davisson) Langner and passed away on July 2, 2011 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 80 years, 2 months, 4 days. Jim graduated from Seward High School in 1949 and from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln School of Pharmacy in 1953, with distinction. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea and Hawaii. On January 29, 1955, Jim was united in marriage to Marjory Lorraine Cleveland in Seward, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with four daughters, Ellen, Karen, Nancy and Ann. Jim co-owned Brockoff Drug Store in Seward and later owned Holsten Drug Store in Alliance, NE and then was the pharmacist for Box Butte General Hospital in Alliance, retiring in the early 1990's. Jim and Marjory moved to Seward in 2006 from Alliance. Jim was a member of the United Methodist Church and a former member of the Alliance Masonic Lodge and Shrine. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lola Langner; sister, Mary Lou Welsh; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dortha and Clyde Cleveland. Jim is survived by his wife, Marjory Langner of Seward; best friend, Walter; daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Keith Gardiner, Seward, Karen Langner, Ames, IA, Nancy and Bob Elwell, Seward, Ann and Cory Mueller, Seward; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Jim. |
