Jane Cummins Jones was born August 24, 1921 at the family home in rural Seward County, Nebraska to Harry Alonzo and Lucetta Nelson (Patterson) Cummins and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on September 6, 2010 at the age of 89 years, 13 days. Jane grew up in Seward and was a 1938 graduate of Seward High School. She attended Monticello College and the University of Nebraska. On February 10, 1941, Jane was united in marriage to John O. Jones in Seward. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Caroline, Nancy, Holly and David. Jane was a founding member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, where she was a faithful member. She was a former member of the Episcopal Church National Board United Thank Offering and St. Monica's - Lincoln. Jane was active in her community where she co-founded Meals on Wheels and served on the Seward School Board and the Seward Swimming Pool Board. Jane is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John O. Jones; her parents, Harry A. and Lucetta Cummins; her brother and sister-in-law, Hal and Rosemarie Cummins; and grandson, Jeff Garber. Jane is survived by her children and their spouses, Caroline and George Martin of Minneapolis, MN, Nancy and Eldon Lindquist of Seward, Holly and Lincoln Mueller of Virginia Beach, VA, David and Jean Jones of Seward; 11 grandchildren, Kate and Manny Fimbres, Sue and Jim Bizal, Tim and Katherine Martin, Mike Martin, Mark and Alise Allan, Dave and Becky Allan, Jen and Wayne Holt, Amy Garber, Wade Vogt and Natalie Makowka, John Jones and Michelle Kladakis, Anne Jones and Dan Gonzalez. Jane enjoyed spending time with her 28 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Joe and Jack Steider; Spencer Martin-Jones; Gabriella, Zachary and Caleb Bizal; Alexander, Hannah and Theodore Martin; Kiley and Brady Allan; Tyler and Mason Allan; Haylee Holt; Michael, Tiffany and Krystina Lindquist; Brooke and Luke Lindquist; Tayler, Paige and Joshua Garber; Daphne Vogt; Tavian, Ryan, Cleia and Tessa Jones.
