Janet Maxine (Morrow) Souchek, the daughter of Dr. Bert Morrow and Edith (Franzen) Morrow was born August 24, 1921 in Seward, Nebraska and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on August 13, 2009 at the age of 87 years, 11 months and 20 days. Janet was a 1940 graduate of Seward High School and a 1949 graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan. On June 30, 1950, Janet was united in marriage to Russell A. Souchek in Seward. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Russell, James, Betty and Jill. Janet enjoyed needle point, knitting, going to Nebraska Basketball games, volunteering her time at the voting polls and spending time with family at Pelican Lake in Minnesota. She was a member of the Seward United Methodist Church and was a longtime member of the Busy Hour Extension Club in Seward. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Bert and Edith Morrow; her husband, Russell A. Souchek; and her brothers, Lloyd Morrow, Warren Morrow, infant brother, William Jay Morrow and an infant sister, Jean Lois Morrow, step-granddaughter, Sarah Dudley. Janet is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Rhonda Souchek of Seward, James and Christine Souchek of Columbus; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and David Dudley of Norfolk, Jill and Thomas Richters of Seward; grandchildren, Trevor and Dylan Richters, Riley, Morgan, Blair and Piper Souchek; step-grandchildren, Tim and Kevin Spalti, Tanya Doyle, Diane Spaulding, Erica Dudley, and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Janet. |
