Janice Elaine (Cuda) VanDerslice was born on November 30, 1945, in Wahoo, Nebraska to William and Mildred (Virgil) Cuda and passed away on November 19, 2024, in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 20 days.
Janice grew up in Wahoo and attended Wahoo High School graduating with the Class of 1964. She was united in marriage to Paul VanDerslice on March 27, 1967, in Wahoo. To this union three boys were born, David, Mike and Brian. The couple then relocated to Seward where she began working as a daycare provider for numerous years along with keeping the books for Paul's trucking. Janice also was a caretaker for numerous people in the Seward area. On September 23, 1993, Paul and Janice started P-J Express. She was the owner and kept track of the finances and bookkeeping for the trucking business. Janice found enjoyment in taking care of her farm, especially mowing and caring for the cats. She also loved trapping raccoons and possums at the farm and would keep tallies of what she caught. Janice enjoyed gathering for fish Fridays in Bee at Lou and Mary Anne's Bar with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul VanDerslice; son, David VanDerslice; grandson, Tyler Armknecht.
Survivors cherishing her memory include her children and their spouses, Mike (Morie) VanDerslice of Seward, Brian VanDerslice of Seward; grandchildren, Colby (Katelin) VanDerslice of Seward, Austin VanDerslice of Seward; siblings and their spouses, Leroy (Shirley) Cuda, Leonard Cuda, Jean (Bob) Schlegel, Larry Cuda; numerous other family members and a host of friends.
