Jarod Michael Haas was born on September 28, 1977, in Seward, Nebraska to Steven Haas and Kathy Perry and passed away alongside his beloved Great Dane, Gracie, on March 20, 2025, on his farm near Seward, Nebraska at the age of 47 years, 5 months and 20 days.

Jarod grew up in Seward where he attended and graduated from Seward High School with the Class of 1996. He was employed at John Deere and Hughes Brothers, Inc. for several years before getting established with farming. Jarod was a hard worker and nothing came before work. On May 24, 2020, Jarod adopted his best friend, Gracie, and the two became inseparable. She was the perfect companion for him.

Jarod was a great friend to many people, and he would do anything for anyone in need. He was known to be quite the talker, very opinionated and typically said whatever was on his mind. Jarod knew everything that was going on in the area. He was always looking to have a good time and was known to be the life of the party. Jarod was a giving person and made contributions to the Lincoln Stars and to Breast Cancer Research. In his free time, he loved attending the Lincoln Stars Hockey games, racing and driving in demolition derbies. Jarod also enjoyed spending time with his friends and their kids became a big part of his life.

Jarod was preceded in death by his grandparents and sister, Courtney Graff.

Survivors cherishing his memory include his father and stepmother, Steve (Beth) Haas, Seward; mother, Kathy Haas, Aurora, CO; sister, Emily (Jeremy) Knakmuhs, Aurora, CO; brother, Bailey Haas, Kearney; nieces and nephews, Claire, Levi, Hadley, Colton, Remi and Kennedie; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
