Jeffrey Lee Abel was born October 23, 1964 in Seward, Nebraska to LeRoy Howard and Clarine Frances (Wenzl) Abel and passed away on June 17, 2006, in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 41 years, 7 months, 25 days. Jeff passed away after a courageous battle with cancer and was surrounded by his family and friends. He was a 1983 graduate of David City High School and had been employed by Illinois Foundation Seeds of Seward since November of 1986. Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing and riding motorcycles with his old buddies. Jeff was great with kids and loved taking them hunting, fishing and watching them play sports. Jeff was a member of the Seward Volunteer Fire Department and was a Hunters Education Instructor. Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents and an infant brother, James. He is survived by his fiance, Nancy Prochaska, Friend; his parents, LeRoy and Clarine Abel, David City; sisters and brother-in-law, Dianne Abel, Lincoln, Angela and Corey Olson, North Liberty, Iowa; brother and sister-in-law, Jeremy and Amy Abel, David City; nieces and nephews, Heather and Jared Heins, Kassi and Caydyn Abel, Jalynn and Joselyn Olson, Chaquoya Givens and Kordell Abel; grandmother, Pert Jarrett, York; grandfather, Floyd Joyce, Bloomington, MN; Nancys family: parents, John and Jackie Prochaska, David City; brother and sister-in-law, Ron J. and Linda Prochaska, Dwight, sisters and brothers-in-law, Denise and Ernie Buresh, Dwight, Carol and Dean Fiala, Wahoo; nieces and nephews, Megan, Nate, and Matt Prochaska, A.J. Valerie, Chris, Jenna, Lacey, and Kelsey Buresh; Jamie, Derek, and Shauna Fiala; great niece Nicole Buresh; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of the family. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Jeff. Jeffs spirit lives on through organ donation. |
