IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeffrey
Blacker
January 1, 1954 – November 15, 2020
Jeffrey J. Blacker was born on January 1, 1954, in Omaha, Nebraska to Richard and Rozella (Rosi) Blacker and passed away on November 15, 2020, in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 66 years, 10 months and 14 days.
Jeff was the middle child among his older brother, Alan, and younger sister, Rebecca (Becki). They spent their childhood in Omaha, Nebraska and Estherville, Iowa. Jeff graduated from Estherville High School with the Class of 1972. He went on to study at Iowa State University, Iowa Lakes Community College, the University of Nebraska and Creighton University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
Jeff was united in marriage to Pat Marie Johnson in 1982 and had three children, Dain, Danielle (Danny) and Dylan. They lived throughout the country in Texas, Nevada, Maryland and Minnesota. Jeff found purpose in his career as a pharmacist. He found value in a life that helped others by working at various hospitals during his career including John Hopkins Hospital. Later in life, he was employed by the Indian Hospital Association as a contract worker. He would spend allotted periods of time on different Indian Reservations throughout the country. He found a true connection with those on the reservations in Northern Arizona, Northern Minnesota and in Lawton, Oklahoma. Jeff kept talking about retirement and how it would happen soon, but we knew that wasn't the case. His love for those he worked with and helped kept him working all these years.
Jeff had a love for sports and the outdoors. He had a passion for landscaping and always having the "best lawn" on the block. He spent ample amounts of time in areas that had more wildlife than people. As an avid fisherman, he enjoyed being submersed in the remoteness of nature. He also had a love for classic western movies, mainly anything that starred Robert Duvall. His love for these movies showed in his "cowboy" personality. Jeff might not have been living the quintessential cowboy lifestyle, but he fully lived by the cowboy way of life. He was a stoic man that enjoyed the simple things; respect was of the utmost importance to him. Full of strong will and intelligence, he sugar coated himself with a dry sense of humor.
Jeff always had a way of making you feel like a million bucks. His presence would easily have you forget that anyone else was in the room.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Dain and wife, Lisa Blacker; grandsons, Easton and Garrex, Apple Valley, MN; daughter, Danielle (Danny/Dog) Blacker, Alpine, WY; son, Dylan Blacker, Apple Valley, MN; brother, Alan Blacker, Woodland Park, CO; sister, Becki and husband, Randy Skube; nephew, Nichols of Minnetonka, MN and former spouse, Pat Blacker, Phoenix, AZ.
He will be missed dearly by his family, friends and those who knew him.
