Jerome Rehor was born October 3, 1926 in Wilber, Nebraska, the son of Joseph Albert and Clara Wilhelmina (Slepicka) Rehor. Shortly after his birth, the family purchased and moved to a farm near Beaver Crossing, Nebraska. Jerome graduated from Beaver Crossing High School in 1945. On August 14, 1946, Jerome was united in marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Ruth Lauree Miller in Marysville, Kansas. Shortly thereafter, the couple moved to David City, Nebraska and purchased an existing business, renaming it Rehor Lunch. A lifelong interest in photography prompted Jerome, by himself, to erect a brick building in David City in 1948 to house a portrait studio. Attached to that building was an ice cream and sandwich stand, which operated during the summer months. While living in David City, Jerome served on the school board in the early 1960's. The Rehor family moved to Seward in 1963. Jerome gradually transitioned to specialize in school photography and Rehor School Photography served schools in the eastern half of Nebraska; and he continued until retiring in 2012. One of Jerome's favorite sayings about his photography work was, "a million miles and a million smiles". Jerome enjoyed going to dances. He was a faithful and supportive husband, loving father, a generous and good provider for his family and a man of conscience, values and integrity. Jerome is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. and Clara W. Rehor. Survivors cherishing Jerome's memory include his wife of 67 years, Ruth Lauree Rehor, Seward; son, Jerry Rehor, Seward; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Delbert Sahn, Seward; grandchildren, Jonathan and Laura Rehor, Grapevine, TX, Dan Sahn, Lincoln; great-granddaughter, Eliza Rose Rehor; nieces, nephews.
