Joan "Jody" Harrison Bartlett was born in Omaha, Nebraska on December 26, 1927 to Benjamin and Estelle Belle (Stephens) Harrison. Jody graduated from Central High School in Omaha and the University of Nebraska in Lincoln with a degree in Elementary Education. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority.

On September 4, 1948, she married the late Victor W. Bartlett. Jody and Vic had three children, Susan, Steve and Bill Bartlett. They moved from Lincoln, Nebraska to Denver, Colorado to Riverside, California ending up in Goehner, Nebraska where they resided for many years. Jody was a teacher in the Seward Public School District for 30 years, retiring in 1992. In retirement, Jody and Vic enjoyed vacationing in Vail, Colorado and loved having their grandchildren come and stay with them and the schnauzers they raised. Jody and Vic were married for 52 years before he passed. Soon after Jody moved to Omaha, Nebraska to be closer to her family.

Jody was a longtime active member and librarian of Friedens United Church of Christ and a 73 year member of Delta Gamma. Jody enjoyed reading and lunch and dinners out with family and friends in her later years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vic, 2000; father, Benjamin Harrison; mother, Estelle Harrison and step mother, Ruth Harrison; sister, Martha Steele; brother, Dan Harrison; grandsons, Christopher and Andrew Goll; great-grandson, Anthony Andrew Goll; daughter-in-law, Deborah Bartlett.

Jody is survived by daughter, Susan and Jim Goll, Omaha, NE; sons, Steve and Rita Bartlett, Omaha, NE and Bill Bartlett, Morro Bay, CA; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; special friend and caregiver, Lauren Prinz.
