John Jay Grasmick was born August 29, 1930 in Lincoln, Nebraska to John and Martha (Dreith) Grasmick and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on June 23, 2007, at the age of 76 years, 9 months, 25 days. John was a 1948 graduate of Lincoln High School; he was a graduate of the University of Nebraska Lincoln with a degree in business and attended the Colorado School of Banking for three years. On June 29, 1952, John was united in marriage to Jewell Alice Hagel in Omaha, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Amy, John, Ann and William. John was a banker and businessman; he was a member of the United Methodist Church in Seward, the American Horse Show and the North Hills Hunt Club and was a former member of the Seward Rotary Club. John was an avid quail hunter; he raised and trained thoroughbred horses. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Martha Grasmick and his son, William A. Grasmick. John is survived by his wife, Jewell Grasmick of Seward; his son, John Grasmick of Garland; his daughters and son-in-law, Amy and Mike Terrell of Geneva and Ann Grasmick of Seward; his six grandchildren, Megan Grasmick, David Grasmick, Jake Grasmick, Margaret Gaskins, Sam Gaskins, Kelsey Wolf; his sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Frank Kuncl of Palo Alto, California; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with John. |
