Friends will be meeting at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at the gazebo at Village Circle where John lived.

John Lynn Hansen was born on October 25, 1944, in Seward, Nebraska to George and Dorothy (Kratz) Hansen and passed away on June 6, 2020, at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 12 days. John grew up in Seward where he attended high school.

After high school, John moved to Florida with his family where he worked at Cablevision and was also an auto and construction mechanic. He eventually returned to Seward County where he lived in Staplehurst until 2012, then moved back to Florida. John made his way back to Seward in 2014. He enjoyed helping people around Staplehurst, mowing and doing handy man work. John loved fishing with Dick Dowding, Ruth, Lance and Savannah Jarzynka. He loved to cook and would reconfigure recipes to his tasting needs. John loved people and visiting folks. If he liked you he would do anything for you, however if he didn't it was in your best interest to stay away. He believed in team work and if you needed help then you ask for it, so the job could get done. He had a very special bond with his "adoptive family," the Jarzynkas. He loved watching Lance and Savannah grow up. John helped teach them how to drive. He was very proud of them for being in the military.

John was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rick Hansen; brother, Hari Hansen.

Survivors include his son, Jeff Hansen, Florida; daughter, Sheri Caulfield, Florida; brother, Mike Hansen, North Carolina; two sisters, Shirley Kapke, Florida, Pat Jaxthimier, Florida; seven grandchildren; the Jarzynka Family, Kevin, Ruth, Lance and Savannah.
