In Memory Of John B. Hotovy John Benedict Hotovy was born December 23, 1917, rural Dwight, Nebraska to Cyril C. and Julia M. (Makes) Hotovy and passed away on March 12, 2009 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 2 months, 20 days. John was a 1935 graduate of Dwight Assumption High School. He was united in marriage to Sylvia A. Mares on August 10, 1942 at Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight. Their marriage was blessed with four children. John was a lifelong resident and farmer north of Dwight. He raised cattle and registered game birds (quail, pheasant and partridge) and had an egg farm. John was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and Catholic Workman. John was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril C. and Julia M. (Makes) Hotovy; his wife, Sylvia A. Hotovy in 2000; brother, George Hotovy; sisters, Blanche Hotovy and Mary Novotny; son-in-law, Duane Swoboda. John is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, David and Diana Hotovy of Dwight, Roger and Janelle Hotovy of Lincoln, Alan Hotovy and Loretta Jisa of Dwight; his daughter, Sharon Swoboda of Columbus; eight grandchildren, Kelsi Hotovy, Kyle Hotovy, Linda Hotovy, Brenda Machado, Lauri Sohl, Dan Swoboda, Jeff Swoboda, Katie Swoboda; four great-grandchildren, Karlye Machado, Alexander Sohl, Ashton Swoboda, Alexandra Swoboda; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with John. |
