Obituary

Johnny Ray Hyde was born October 27, 1935 in Altus, Arkansas to Jim and Sylvia Hyde and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the age of 76 years, 11 months. Johnny entered the U.S. Army in 1953 and retired as Sergeant 1st Class after two tours in Korea and Vietnam. He also served in Thailand, France and the Panama Canal Zone. Johnny retired from Mega Corporation and worked at NBC and American Charter where he served as Maintenance Engineer. Johnny was united in marriage to LaVerne May Bargmen on July 7, 1969 at Stillwell, Oklahoma. Their marriage was blessed with five children. Johnny and LaVerne lived in Lincoln before moving to Staplehurst 20 years ago. Johnny loved to dance and particularly liked country music. He was an avid gardener and loved to fish and hunt. He was a hard worker, was very generous, and was always there for his familyhe will be missed by all. Johnny was a member of Seward VFW Post #4755 Johnny is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Connie Sue McPherson; his brother, Wayne Hyde; and brother-in-law, Doyle Taylor. Johnny is survived by his wife, LaVerne, Staplehurst; children and spouses, Jim Snow, Jeff Hyde, Vicky Giles, all of Staplehurst, Kim Hyde, Atlantic, IA; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, JimLee and Deena Hyde, Tom and Donna Hyde, all of Siloam Springs, AR., sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Taylor, Glendale, AZ, Judy and John Weaver of GA, Carrol and Tom Wright, Siloam Springs, AR; sister-in-law, Sylvia Hyde, Trenton, MO; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers, and memories of life shared with Johnny.
