Joseph B. Trouba was born on November 15, 1934, near Garland, NE, to Joseph and Mary (Kunasek) Trouba and passed away on July 22, 2018 in Seward at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 7 days.
Joe attended and graduated from Assumption Catholic High School with the Class of 1952. He enlisted into the United States Navy on February 21, 1957; he served on the U.S.S. Thetis Bay for two years until he was honorably discharged on February 18, 1959. Joe was united in marriage to Marianne Ekstein on October 8, 1966, at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Loma. He worked at Hughes Brothers for 41 years, retiring in 1997. After his retirement he spent 10 years raising a large garden and going to Farmers' Markets and selling his produce, especially tomatoes. One of the things he was most proud of was his 1928 Model A that he restored.
He was preceded in death by parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Shirley Trouba, Don Trouba, Leonard Trouba; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Louis Cecava; brother-in-law, Clarence Ekstein; nephew, Greg Trouba.
Joe is survived by his wife, Marianne; brother, Edwin Trouba; two sisters-in-law, Emma Trouba and Alice Ekstein; several nieces and nephews. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Joe.
