Josephine Marie (Schmit) Klein was born to Cornelius and Martha (Speicher) Schmit on March 19, 1920 near Bellwood, Nebraska and passed away on December 16, 2012 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 92 years, 8 months, 27 days. Josephine attended country school, Humphrey St. Francis and Bellwood and graduated from David City High School in 1937 with a degree in Normal Training. She taught school for two years. On February 24, 1941, Josephine was united in marriage to Harold George Klein in Bellwood. They lived on farms by Surprise, Ulysses and Staplehurst and moved to Seward in 1974. Josephine was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, PCCW, 30-30 Club, Ladies Recreation, West Side Extension Club and Seward Church Women United. Josephine is preceded in death by her husband, Harold G. Klein in 2006; her parents, Cornelius and Martha Schmit; sons, Donald Klein, Stephen Klein and Raymond Klein; daughters, Sandra Prochaska and Susan Klein; siblings and spouses, Elsie and Leo C. Schmit, Viola and Chris Kamenske, Leo A. and Wilomine Schmit, parents-in-law, Louis C. and Mary "Lena" Klein; her in-laws, Anton and Annie Klein, Marie Klein, Madeline and Ernest Matulka, and Josephine and Lad Sloup. Josephine is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Sandy Klein, Dorchester, Norman and Kathie Klein, Bee, Arthur and Tracy Klein, Lincoln; son-in-law, Ron Prochaska, Dwight; nine grandchildren, Rhonda Zoubek, Travis Brandenburgh, Trevor Brandenburgh, Samuel Klein, Sarah Scholl, Justin Kroll, Gabrielle Buglewicz, Jason Brandenburgh Matthew Klein; 14 great-grandchildren, Brooke, Brittney, Bailey, Alexis, Kourtney, Harper, Sayler, Maida, Avery, Riley, Trenton, Colton, Madison, Garret. and a host of friends.
