Jovanka (Dukic) Karac was born on December 1, 1943, in Zenica, Yugoslavia, the daughter of Marko and Janja (Dragic) Dukic, and passed away on August 6, 2025, in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 5 days.

Jovanka grew up in Zenica where she received her education. In September of 1962, she united in marriage to Nikola Karac in Zenica and to this union three sons were born, Brano, Ranko and Bosko. Jovanka was a wonderful mother and homemaker. In May of 1998, Nikola and Jovanka immigrated to the United States, moving to Seward to be close to their sons. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting. Jovanka often worried about her boys. She also loved to visit with her friends. Jovanka was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nikola in 2018; son, Bosko in 2025.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her two sons, Brano Karac of Staplehurst and Ranko and wife, Milka Karac of Seward. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of a life shared with Jovanka.
