Joyce Marie (Smutny) McCourt was born on August 14, 1941 in Seward, Nebraska to Frank E. and Ellice A. Smutny. Joyce passed away peacefully on April 8, 2010 at the age of 68 years. Joyce was a 1959 graduate of Seward High School and attended Reese and Sybil Cosmetology School in Lincoln, NE. She was united in marriage to J. Patrick McCourt of Bloomfield, NE on July 2, 1962 and their marriage was blessed with two children. The family moved to California where their family grew up. Joyce loved the outdoors and had beautiful gardens and flowers. Later in life she moved to Auburn, California to be closer to her grandchildren. She enjoyed doing puzzles and watching her grandchildren grow. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Ellice A. Smuty and Frank E. Smutny; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Maurice Hassenplug. Joyce is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Bill Ramsay of Lincoln; brother and sister-in-law, Frank D. and Diane Smutny of Grand Island; daughter and son-in-law, Jolie and Brett Huston of Auburn, CA; son, Jason McCourt of Martinez, CA; three grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews. |
