Judy A. Eilers was born on May 9, 1957, in Lexington, NE; to Robert Harold and Eunice Marie (Holscher) Brell and passed away on September 19, 2014, in Seward, NE; at the age of 57 years, 4 months and 10 days. Judy was baptized on June 16, 1957, and confirmed on May 7, 1972, at Hope Lutheran Church in Smithfield, NE. She grew up in the Elwood area where she attended District 4 country school and then graduated from Elwood High School with the class of 1975. Judy began her working career at New Holland in Lexington, where she did data entry and also was a receptionist. On September 15, 1984, she married her best friend Mark. They continued to live in Lexington for several years before moving to Hastings, NE. In 1995, Mark began teaching at SCC in Milford and Judy worked at the Milford Elementary School Library. In 2001, Judy and Mark built a new home in Seward. She was able to stay home and work in her garden, cook and bake which she loved very much. Judy volunteered at St. Vincent School Library, the Plum Creek Literacy Festival, and she also helped start Operation Christmas Kids at the Rock Lutheran Church. Judys joy in life was being with Mark and spending time with family. She was a strong supporter of Concordia sports especially the Women's Basketball team. Judy was a member of the Rock Lutheran Church. Judy is survived by her husband Mark of Seward, two sisters, Sharon Miller and husband Alan and Marlene Evans and husband Terry all of Elwood, NE; brother-in-law, David Eilers and wife Missy of Overton, NE; and sister-in-law, Anne Eilers of Scottsdale, AZ, nine nieces and nephews, Carson, Chase, Cody, Rachel, Derrick, Dale, Scott, Rebecca and Jamie. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law Richard and Marion Eilers, grandparents and brother-in-law Brian Eilers. Memorials may be made to the Seward Library in Judy's name or to the donor's choice.
