Keith Benjamin John Jackson was born February 25, 1917 in Harbine, Nebraska to Bert M. and Mary R. (Thompson) Jackson and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on August 30, 2006 at the age of 89 years, 6 months, 5 days. Keith attended District No. 9 near Plymouth, Nebraska and then attended high school at Plymouth High and Jackson High School in Lincoln. Keith served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Guam. Upon his return from the service he was employed with Burlington Railroad and retired from Goodyear in Lincoln. Keith was a self-employed businessman for many years in Garland as owner of Jacksons Lounge. Keith had lived in Garland for 40 years. He served on the Town Board of Garland for many years and was also the town maintenance man. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 369 in Garland and the VFW in Lincoln. Keith was united in marriage to Joyce Beverly Donnelly and they are the parents of one daughter, Leia Jackson. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Bert M. and Mary R. Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Jackson of Garland, his daughter, Leia Jackson of Garland; special family friends, daughter, Brooke Jacobsen and grandchildren, Morgan and Jake Eckles; brothers, Mirwyn Jackson, I of Lincoln and Lyle Jackson of Arvada, Colorado; his sister, June Moore, Parachute, Colorado; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Keith. |
