Kenneth Fred Brase was born on February 18, 1938, in Riverton, Wyoming to Fred and Elvira (Schaefer) Brase and passed away unexpectedly on December 23, 2017, at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 5 days.
Kenneth was baptized on March 20, 1938, at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Kinnear, WY. He spent his early childhood in the Kinnear and Riverton, Wyoming area where his parents farmed until they returned to the Staplehurst area in 1946. Kenneth was confirmed on April 6, 1952, at Zion Lutheran Church, Staplehurst. He graduated from Seward High School with the Class of 1956. He enlisted into the United States Marine Corp where he served honorably until his discharge. Upon his return from the service, he began his lifelong career farming in the Staplehurst area. He loved the farm and everything that came with it. Kenneth retired in 2013. He enjoyed going into town for coffee with all his friends and neighbors catching up on all the talk around the area. Kenneth was a long time member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gerald; his sister, Sharilyn Lange and husband Eugene.
Kenneth is survived by five nephews: Jason Brase and wife Jennifer, Staplehurst, Joel Brase and wife Cathy, Seward, Rodney Lange and wife Sharon, Lincoln, Kent Lange and wife Lynne, Denver, CO, Steve Lange, Lincoln,; niece, Jodi Earl and husband Jeff, Lincoln; seven great nieces and nephew, Cierra Kelley and husband, Andrew, Mitchell Lange, Makenna Lange, Makayla Lange, Jalynn Brase, Jeana Brase, Janessa Brase and Ella Brase; one great great nephew, Arthur Kelley; sister-in-law and spouse, Damaris and Jack Clagg, Seward.
