Kirk Patrick McCoy was born October 6, 1956 in Coleridge, Nebraska, the son of Joseph Donald and Jeanette Esther (Johnson) McCoy and passed away on February 2, 2012 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 55 years, 3 months, 27 days. Kirk grew up in Laurel, Nebraska where he graduated from Laurel-Concord High School in 1974. Kirk attended school in Omaha and also worked at Campbell Soup. He later moved back home and then attended Northeast Comm. College where he graduated in 1977. He lived in Vail, Colorado where he worked as an electrician and also at the Vail Athletic club. Kirk then moved to Seward where he worked as a lineman for Seward Rural Public Power District in 2005. On June 15, 1985, he married Nancy Page in Seward. Kirk was very proud to receive his Bachelor's Degree from Concordia University in 1996. Kirk started working at Tenneco in 2005, but also worked as the local community education director at Southeast Comm. College since 1997. Kirk was a devoted Community Blood Bank donor, member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Seward Rec. baseball and football coach, former Pack Leader of Cub Scouts #256, he loved his Chicago Bears, cooking, spending time with family and friends and fishing in Canada. Kirk is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jeanette McCoy; father-in-law Ellsworth Page, and his dog Jenny. Kirk is survived by his wife Nancy, of Seward, NE; son Sam, of North Hollywood, CA; brothers, Joe and wife Deanna of Laurel, NE; Mike and wife Jill of TX; Paul and wife Mary of Lincoln, NE; Mark and wife Margaret of Laurel, NE; sister Kelly and husband Mike Barnes of Bloomington, MN; sisters-in-law, Cindy Page of Omaha, NE; and Mary Jo Page, of Lexington, NE; his special companion Josie (dog), numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, special friends Jim and Jody Arneson.
