Larry was a 1965 graduate of Seward High School. He was united in marriage to Karen Lukert on July 9, 1966 in Seward, Nebraska. For many years Larry was an over the road driver for Seward Motor Freight until his accident on June 5, 1982. Larry was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Seward; a member of the Seward Park and Recreation Board; a member of the Seward Softball Association and was very involved in the planning of the Seward softball complex; for 10 years Larry and Karen participated on the shuffleboard team at Little Lueb's. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ervin and Pearl Lukert, his sister, Carol Browne, his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Lester and Faye Lukert and Claus Martens. Survivors include his wife, Karen, Seward; his daughters and son-in-law, Sarah and Troy Watson, Milford, Becky Peterson, Seward and Elizabeth Peterson, Lincoln; his six grandchildren, Dylan, Erika, Damian, Chase, Peyton and Lilly; his sister, Joann Martens, Seward; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Ginny Peterson, Lincoln and Richard and Barb Peterson, DeWitt;brother-in-law, Chris Browne, Detroit, MI; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roger and Delorse Lukert, Phoenix,AZ, Dennis and Mary Lukert, Longview, TX and Gary and Vel Lukert, Emporia, KS and his special friends, Bob and Peg Ammon, LeRoy and Eileen Dittmar, Physician/Friend - Dr. Van Vahle, Dr. Ronald Hollin - UNMC; Minister - Pastor Bob Paulson, Heidi Emre, and the late Bill and Joyce Cortney. It was Larry's wish for anatomical donation in hopes of helping young people that may have disabilities. |
