Larry John Schwartz was born on December 6, 1950, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Harold and Esther (Fischer) Schwartz and passed away on December 31, 2021, at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 71 years and 25 days. Larry grew up in Lincoln where he was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Doane College.
Larry was active with the Nebraska National Guard for 30 years which included the 24 th Medical Company as a flight medic and later he worked as a recruiter. He was also employed as a Food Broker Representative and a facilities manager at the Nebraska Department of Labor. In retirement, he worked part-time at Lincoln Orthopedics Facility.
Larry was very handy at fixing almost anything or if uncertain he knew how to research to find the answers he needed. He enjoyed classic cars, motorcycles, reading and listening to various radio podcasts. Larry loved outdoor animals including a squirrel that he named Reggie, who buddied up to Larry. He purchased a cockatiel as a surprise gift for his wife, not realizing his life was about to change for the next 21 years and he would no longer be the head of the household.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Esther Schwartz.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise Schwartz; brother, Doug and wife, Sheila Schwartz; sister, Cyndi and husband, Dan Post; brothers-in-law, David and wife, Kathy Novacek, Don Novacek, Clair and significant other, Barb Novacek; sisters-in-law, Mary Kaye and husband, Chuck Kost, Lori and husband, Dana Miller; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of a life shared with Larry.
