Larry G. Zimbelmann was born on July 27, 1951, in Henderson, Nebraska to Gilbert and Velma (Roemmich) Zimbelmann and passed away on August 24, 2023, unexpectedly, at his home in rural Milford, Nebraska at the age of 72 years and 28 days.
Larry grew up in Sutton, Nebraska where he attended and was baptized and confirmed at Sutton Federated Church. He was a graduate of Sutton High School with the Class of 1969. Larry graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in ag education. While there he met and later married Linda Ficken. To this union two children were born, Jason and Michelle. The couple taught school in Filley, Nebraska for two years. They then made the move to Linda's family farm where Larry began farming with his father-in-law. He especially enjoyed growing sweet corn and popcorn. Larry employed many Southeast Community College students over the years.
Larry enjoyed refurbishing antique tractors and cars. He enjoyed socializing with friends and going to coffee in Milford. Larry liked to go deer hunting. Fishing and spending time with his grandchildren were Larry's favorite activities along with taking them to Husker football games and playing cards and board games with them.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jason Zimbelmann (1993); brother-in-law, Larry Dittmar; and in-laws, Glenn and Arlene Ficken.
Survivors cherishing his memory include his wife, Linda Zimbelmann, rural Milford; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Darren Adams and grandchildren: Ethan, Olivia, Avery and Alden Adams, all of Centralia, MO; two sisters, Patty Zeleny, Lincoln, Diane Dittmar, Lincoln; one sister-in-law, Glenda (Bruce) Wieland and numerous nieces and a nephew.
