Obituary
On September 10, 1944, LaRue was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Pollock in Marysville, Kansas. They celebrated 70 years of marriage in 2014. Bob and LaRue made their home in Utica. LaRue had her own cafe, "Blondie's Cafe," which she operated from 1946-1951. In 1952, Pollock Bros. Implement and Hardware was founded by Louis, Harold and Bob. LaRue worked as a bookkeeper for the family business until their retirement in 1993. LaRue and Bob were dedicated ambassadors for their Utica community. LaRue enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and completing word-finds, keeping her mind as 'sharp as a tack.' She also enjoyed watching sports on t.v., especially the Kansas City Royals.
LaRue is preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Bob; her sister, Verona and husband, Melvin Zwick; her brother, Cedric Daehling; nephew, Arlin Gehle; twin great nephews, Derrick and Kyle Gehle.
She is survived by 11 nieces and nephews and their spouses; numerous great nieces and nephews and their spouses; great-great nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with LaRue.
