Lena May (Myrstol) Murphy was born January 28, 1944 in Big Timber, Montana, the daughter of Donald and Violet Lee (Gibby) Myrstol and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on July 7, 2016 at the age of 72 years, 5 months, 10 days. Lena was a graduate of Livingston High School, Livingston, Montana. Following high school, Lena worked at a restaurant in Yellowstone National Park and later moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she met her future husband, Michael Murphy. They were married November 16, 1963 in Omaha. They lived nearly all of their married life in Lincoln where they raised their family. Lena was employed with the Lancaster County Clerk's Office for over 32 years. Lena and Michael moved to the Garland, Nebraska area 16 years ago. They attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Bee for a few years and currently are members of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Seward. Lena loved raising sheep, feeding and bottle feeding lambs and cutting wool.

Lena is survived by her husband of 52 years, Michael Murphy, Garland; sons, Ray Murphy, Corpus Christi, TX and Ron Murphy, Lincoln; daughter and son-in-law, LeAnn and Don Vodraska, Lincoln; three grandchildren, Michael, Amber and Megan Vodraska, all of Lincoln; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Dennise Myrstol, Livingston, MT, Donnie and Lynette Myrstol, Colstrip, MT, John and Bert Myrstol, Hundley, MT; sisters and brother-in-law, Eileen Hackman, Redmond, OR, Betty Myrstol, Newdale, ID, Maryann and Ken Carver, Mt. Ida, AR, Nancy and Dave Noyd, Colstrip, MT; nieces and nephews; Mike's siblings and their spouses and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Lena.
