Obituary

Leo Dean Adams was born on August 28, 1927, in Seward and passed away on August 11, 2012, at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 14 days. Leo was the son of Harry and Anna (Fischer) Adams and grew up in Utica where he received his education. After school he worked at John Deere in Moline, IL for a short time and then farmed with his uncle Ferd Fischer in the Utica area. On September 13, 1950, Leo married June Margaret Ruether in Nebraska City, NE. They made their home in Utica. Leo was drafted into the United States Army in 1951 and served for two years in Korea. Upon his honorable discharge Leo returned to Utica and farmed for several years before moving to Beaver Crossing, NE; where they farmed for many years. Leo also worked at American Stores for 25 years before they closed. The couple enjoyed their farm life and farm animals, Leo loved his John Deere tractors. Leo loved being with and spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his many friends. He enjoyed being outdoors and tinkering with something all the time. He was always helping people but never asked for anything in return. He was a member of the N.R.A. Leo is survived by his wife of 61 years, June Adams of Beaver Crossing, NE; four daughters, Linda Scheinost of Lincoln, NE; Julie Keller and her husband Tom of Lincoln, NE; Karen Diedrichs and her husband John of Milford, NE; and Sharon Adams of Beaver Crossing, NE; one brother Linford Adams of East Moline, IL; 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
