Leona Ann Pavel was born June 27, 1934, in David City, Nebraska to Joseph James and Ann Frances (Codr) Brousek and passed away on April 26, 2006 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 71 years, 9 months, 29 days. She was baptized and confirmed at Sts. Cyril and Methodius, Cedar Hill. Leona attended school at District No. 78 - the Linwood area and District No. 19 - the Plasi area, both in Saunders County and was a 1953 graduate of Brainard High School. Leona was united in marriage to James Benedict Pavel on October 23, 1957 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church at Bruno, Nebraska. She was a housewife and homemaker and a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Altar Society and Catholic Workman all in Dwight. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ann Brousek; her brother, Victor Brousek; and her brothers-in-law, Ernie Kotera and Leonard Niemann. Leona is survived by her husband, James of Bee; her son, Jim of Bee, her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Marcie Brousek of Omaha; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Francis Pavel of Waverly and Phyllis and Jerry Swanda of Brainard; her sisters-in-law, Martha Niemann of Lincoln and Dorothy Kotera of Seward; nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Leona. |
