Leona Dorothea Pflughaupt was born in Herman, MN; to John and Clara (Gruber) Wilken and passed away on November 19, 2013, in Seward, NE. The family moved to Garland, NE when Leona was about 2 years of age. She attended school at Middle Creek. Leona married Otto Herman Pflughaupt in 1936, they made Seward their home for their entire life. They owned and operated the Sinclair Oil Station and later Pflughaupt Plumbing and Heating for 38 years. Leona also washed and ironed men's shirts and sheets for the hospital and Dental Clinic for many years. Leona was an avid bowler and sponsored many bowling teams over the years. She loved playing cards, visiting with family and friends, flowers, shopping and the Christmas season. She was a long time member of St. John Lutheran Church. Leona is survived by her daughter-in-law; Doris Pflughaupt, son-in-law; Leo Meister, sister; Lorene Wilken, seven grandchildren; J.D. Meister and wife Nancy, Jeff Meister, Dawn Meister, Paula Barcel and husband Barton, Jason Pflughaupt, Kristin Powell and husband Brandon, and Dana Pflughaupt, 11 great grandchildren; Christopher Meister, Jennifer Meister, Barton Barcel II and wife Amy, Amber Barcel, Joslyn Barcel Tate and husband Zach, Landon Barcel, Dalton Pflughaupt, Halle Pflughaupt, Tyler Pflughaupt, Neo Powell and Dax Powell, 2 great great-grandchildren; Kaden and Mallory Barcel, sisters-in-law; Elva Wilken, Irma Neujahr and husband Wendel and special friends; Ed and Dru Lutkehus. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Otto in May 1997, daughter; Janet Meister in June 1994, son; Stewart Pflughaupt in February 1999, and a brother Lawrence Bud Wilken in November 1993.
