Leonard Fredrick Lindner was born March 25, 1918 in Seward County, Nebraska to John F. and Anna (Hodde) Lindner and passed away on August 27, 2005 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 87 years, 5 months, 2 days. Leonard was baptized April 21, 1918 at Evangelical Lutheran St. Pauls Church in Seward County and was confirmed on March 20, 1932 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church west of Malcolm. He attended School District No. 52 in Seward County. On April 9, 1944, Leonard was united in marriage to Florence Johanna Westerhoff at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Malcolm. To this union two children were born, Melvin and Janet. They lived and farmed in the Malcolm area all of their married life. Leonard was a lifelong member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Malcolm. He was preceded in death by his parents, John F. and Anna Lindner; his wife, Florence Lindner on July 25, 2003; his brothers, Alfred and Lorenz Lindner; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Lora and Henry Schulz and Vera and Clarence Schmieding; and brother-in-law, Ervin Schmieding. Leonard is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Cheryl Lindner, rural Malcolm and his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Byron Melichar, Crete; his five grandchildren, Michelle and Frank Loos, Chris Lindner, and Tim, Mark and Amy Melichar; his sisters and brother-in-law, Leona Schmieding, Seward and Verna Mae and Willard Spahr, Seward; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Leonard. |
