Leonard Niemann was born July 21, 1921 at Dwight, Nebraska to Paul and Mary (Matulka) Niemann and passed away on October 19, 2005 at his home near Dwight at the age of 84 years, 2 months, 29 days. Leonard attended Dwight High School. On March 17, 1961 he was united in marriage to Martha Rita Pavel in York, Nebraska. This union was blessed with one son, Marvin and one adopted daughter, Sandy. Leonard farmed all of his life in the Dwight area. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight and ZCBJ Lodge No. 158, also of Dwight. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Niemann, two brothers, George and Paul Niemann and his sister, Helen Niemann. Leonard is survived by his wife, Martha Niemann, Dwight; daughter, Sandy Niemann Ventry, Lincoln; son, Marvin Niemann, Dwight; three grandchildren, Christopher Niemann, Leannedra Niemann and Camrie Ventry and one great-granddaughter, Ariell Madison Niemann; cousins; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
