LeRoy Merlin Radford was born in Seward, Nebraska on June 28, 1940, to Orville and Clara (Klepper) Radford and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on October 1, 2023, at the age of 83 years, 3 months, and 3 days.
LeRoy was one of the youngest of 13 children in his family. In his early years, he worked around the family farm doing chores and tending to the cattle. In 1948, LeRoy was involved in a farming accident where he lost four fingers. Due to his injury, he was not allowed to serve our country in the Army. Some of his early jobs included working at the farmers co-op, Walker, carpentry work and eventually the steel company.
LeRoy was married and to that union one child was born, and one child was adopted. He later divorced and was then united in marriage to Pamela Lear in Seward, Nebraska on September 30, 1974. They were married for 47 years until Pamela's passing in 2021.
LeRoy and Pamela loved gardening and did a lot of canning together. He also loved to mow and often mowed various cemeteries around the area. LeRoy enjoyed supplying his family with their own food by butchering cows, pigs, and chickens. He had been a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Garland since 1987.
LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pamela Radford; son, Eric Radford; daughters, Erin and Lori Radford; grandson, Ryan Radford; brothers, Charles Radford, Clifford Radford, Harrold Radford, Leland Radford; sisters, Irene Houdersheldt, Elaine Anderson, Viola Jacobs, Darlene Shook; four brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law.
Survivors cherishing his memory include his children, Jennifer Woodard, Garland, Lonny Radford, Dorchester, Tammy and husband, Jeff Draper, Valparaiso, Dave Radford, Norfolk; grandchildren, Robert (Nikki) Draper, Michelle (Scott) Nice, Jr., Stephanie (Austin) Novak, Robbie Hillard, Jacob Rolenc, Brayden Radford, Braden Radford; great-grandchildren, Scotty Nice III, Joelle Nice, Jaxxton Nice, Chase Draper, William Novak, Troy Novak, Paisleigh Novak; brother, Welden and wife, Trudy Radford; sisters, Evelyn and husband, Bill Reynolds, Verna Mae Neujahr; brother-in-law, Marty Jacobs; sister-in-law, Donna Radford; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
