Lester N. Heidtbrink was born on December 13, 1933, in Malcolm, NE; to Clamor August and Helena Bertha (Beckmann) Heidtbrink and left this world for his heavenly home on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 16 days.

Lester grew up in the Malcolm area where he attended St. Paul's Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from Malcolm High School in 1951. Lester married Cleora C. Carnes on May 9, 1952, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Malcolm, NE. Lester was a lifetime Dairy farmer and a member of MidAmerica Dairy Association. In 1994, he received the State of Nebraska Department of Agriculture Outstanding Dairyman Award. He received the Nebraska Pioneer Farm Award, which means the farm has been owned by the Heidtbrink family for at least 100 years or more. Lester was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he served many years as a Trustee. He coached Little League Baseball and also served on the Malcolm Public School Board of Education. Lester had served 57 years of dedicated service on the Malcolm Fire and Rescue department. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa and friend to many.

Lester is survived by his wife of 62 years Cleora; his children and their spouses, Douglas and Jo Heidtbrink, Jadene and Gregory Michael, Steven Heidtbrink and special friend Cindy Pressley all of Malcolm; Grandchildren and spouses, Jennifer and Russell Hall, Melody and Trent Brown, Sheri and Brett McKinney, Corey and Tera Heidtbrink, Heather and Richard Small, 14 great grandchildren; brother, Lee Virgil Heidtbrink; sisters-in-law, Betty Heidtbrink, Alice Elliott, Phila Clark, Nancy Obermier; brother-in-law, Herbert Carnes, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Victor and Clarence; sister, Gladys Isaccson; sisters-in-law, Irene Heidtbrink and Virginia Heidtbrink; brother-in-law, Jackie Isaccson.
