Lily Abigail Plasek was born on February 8, 2002, in Lincoln, Nebraska to James and Tara Sue (Wassmann) Plasek and went to her heavenly home on August 15, 2024, at the age of 22 years, 6 months and 7 days. She was baptized at St. John's Catholic Church, Lincoln on April 27, 2002, and confirmed at Assumption Catholic Church, Dwight on May 12, 2015.
Lily grew up in Seward and Dwight where she attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School and St. Mary's Catholic School. She graduated from Aquinas Catholic High School with the Class of 2020. Lily attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she finished her junior year. She was studying to be a math teacher.
Lily loved being outdoors and spending time with dogs and cats. She was a sweet, caring and compassionate young woman and was the mother hen of her group. Lily was a book worm and loved to read. She was creative and very talented at arranging flowers. Lily was a softball player, playing for Aquinas and the Seward Jazz. She was active in the drama crew at Aquinas, helping with the plays and one-acts. Lily enjoyed traveling and visiting new places including Greece, Puerto Rico, California, South Dakota, Michigan, Wisconsin and Arkansas. She enjoyed cooking and was the Queen of Crepes. Above all, Lily loved her family and spending time with her nieces.
Lily was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Ray and Dollie Lindberg, Al and Rose Slegl, and Louis and Mayme Plasek.
Survivors cherishing her memory include her parents, James and Tara Sue Plasek, Bee; two sisters, Elizabeth and husband, Jared Hain, York, Ruth Plasek and friend, Tim Ehlers, Lincoln; nieces, Layna and Brynn Hain; boyfriend, Carter Powell, Lincoln; grandparents, Dale and Gean Wassmann, Absarokee, MT, Jim and Gail Plasek, David City; aunts, Christina and husband, Gus Hitz, Lincoln and Rose Plasek, Lincoln; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins (many in Wyoming) and a host of friends.
