Lloyd George Kaufman was born May 5, 1935 in Home, Kansas, the son of Paul and Augusta (Kubik) Kaufman and passed away on February 9, 2016 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 80 years, 9 months, 4 days. Lloyd was a 1952 graduate of Marshall County, Kansas Public Schools. He served in the U.S. Navy from June 16, 1952 until his discharge March 1, 1956. Lloyd was united in marriage to Kathryn E. Barnes on October 19, 1956 at the First Christian Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Paul and Dirk. The family resided in Lincoln where Lloyd was associated with the Nebraska Book Company from 1956 until 1976 as department manager, corporation pilot, and store manager. Lloyd received his law degree from the University of Nebraska law college in 1976 and was associated for two years with the law firm of Smith & Smith, Lexington, Nebraska. Lloyd was appointed to the bench of the Dawson County Court, 13th Judicial District in 1979. Lloyd and Kathryn moved to Pleasant Dale in 1999. Lloyd was actively engaged in aviation all of his life; he enjoyed being a pilot and was a member of the "Soaring Association". Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and August Kaufman and his brother, Paul Kaufman. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Kaufman, Pleasant Dale, NE; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Karla Kaufman, Morristown, Arizona and their children, Daniel and Hannah Kaufman and son and daughter-in-law, Dirk Kaufman and Kari Sigerson, New York City and their daughter, Eva Kaufman; and Lloyd's sister, Ruth Kaufman of California.
