Lloyd Albert Weers was born October 29, 1923 in Nemaha County, Nebraska to Albert G.H. and Sophia Caroline (Eden) Weers and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on June 11, 2013 at the age of 89 years, 7 months, 13 days. Lloyd attended school in Johnson County and Auburn High School. On August 14, 1948, he was united in marriage to Norma Jeanne Dunham in Kansas City, Missouri. Their marriage was blessed with five children. Lloyd was a World War II Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He farmed in southeast Nebraska from 1977 through 1992; the past 21 years the couple resided in Gresham, Nebraska. Lloyd attended the American Lutheran Church in Lincoln. He was an avid softball player. He was a very proud farmer and took great pride in his shorthorn cattle. He had a witty sense of humor and was great at telling stories and jokes. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents; son, James; his brothers, Merlin, Voyne, Darwin, and Orlan and sister, Roselyn Budjac. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Jeanne Weers, of Gresham; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Wayne Wilson, of Kearney, Karen & Gerald Cunning of Lincoln, Connie & Michael Riggins of Portage, Michigan, Loreen Kersey of Seward and Janet and Jim Reed of Nebraska City; his brother, John Weers of Lincoln, 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
