Lois Leona (Panwitz) Giesselman was born June 16, 1935 in Alliance, Nebraska to Rudolph Herman and Leona Ada (Scheer) Panwitz and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on April 19, 2008 at the age of 72 years, 10 months, 3 days. Lois was a 1953 graduate of Alliance High School and the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Music degree. On June 1, 1957, Lois was united in marriage to Harry J. Giesselman in Lincoln, Nebraska and shortly thereafter moved to Seward. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Laural, Linda, Cindy, and Bryan. Lois taught private piano lessons for many years; was the pianist for the Seward Kiwanis Kitones and pianist for the Goehner Melodrama.
Preceding Lois in death were her husband, Dr. Harry J. Giesselman in April of 2000 and her parents, Rudolph and Leona Panwitz. Lois is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Laural and John Anderson, Linda and John Cahoon and Cindy and Bruce Mavis, all of Seward; her son and his wife, Bryan and Kathy Giesselman of Aurora, Colorado; 10 grandchildren, Brock and Jess Anderson, Jerrod Anderson, Lucas Anderson, Nicole Anderson, Johnny Cahoon, Andrew Cahoon, Daniel Cahoon, Karl Giesselman, Cory Giesselman, and Elizabeth Mavis and two great-grandchildren, Nataliy Anderson and Dalaney Anderson; step grandchildren, Adrian Weikel, Kenny Weikel and Bryan Weikel; brother and wife, Karl and Cleone Panwitz of Alliance; sister-in-law, Lila Scheer of Arlington; brother-in-law and wife, Tony and Carol Giesselman of Omaha; other relatives and a host of friends.
