Lorraine Dobesh

Lorraine Ann Dobesh was born on December 27, 1949, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Charles “Dick” and Darlene (Kapke) Detwiler and passed away on May 15, 2026, in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 18 days.

Lorraine was raised in Pleasant Dale and attended school there through the seventh grade. She later attended Milford High School, graduating with the Class of 1969. On June 20, 1970, Lorraine was united in marriage to the love of her life, a Vietnam Navy veteran, Valerian Dobesh at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Together, the couple spent the majority of their married years on an acreage near Staplehurst.

Lorraine dedicated 35 and a half years to Seward High School, where she worked in the food service department. She took great pride in her work and the many relationships she built throughout the years. Following retirement, Lorraine and Val built a new home in Seward and enjoyed the next chapter of life together.

Lorraine especially loved traveling with Val. They cherished trips to Colorado and spending winter months in Arizona, where they enjoyed sightseeing and attending dirt track races. Back home in Nebraska, summers were often spent together at racetracks, making memories with friends and family. Lorraine was also a devoted member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents; three infant brothers; parents-in-law, Ray and Marie (Duffek) Dobesh; brother-in-law, Dave Dobesh.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her husband of 55 years, Val Dobesh; nephews, Damon Dobesh, Dustin Dobesh; niece, Crystal Obbink; sister-in-law, Cindy (Vic) Benes; great-nieces and great-nephews, Owen Obbink, Easton Obbink, Braelynn Dobesh, Broden Dobesh, Brevin Dobesh; numerous cousins. Lorraine’s family would like to thank all those who share her life, friendship, and memories helping make her years so full of love and joy.
