Lorrene L. Kovar was born on November 8, 1936, in Seward, Nebraska to Anton and Mary (Rezac) Kovar and passed away on March 23, 2022, in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 15 days. She was baptized on November 22, 1936, and confirmed on October 4, 1949, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.  Lorrene grew up on the family farm near Garland. She attended Leahey Country School and later graduated from Seward High School with the Class of 1954.

Lorrene and her sister, Joyce moved to Lincoln, Nebraska shortly after school. She worked for Ameritas for over 40 years, until her retirement in 1998. She enjoyed traveling with Joyce to Colorado, North and South Dakota and Arizona. She was an avid sports fan. Lorrene especially loved all Husker sports and the Kansas City Royals. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. Lorrene also loved playing Pinochle on Saturday nights with her family.

Lorrene was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Anton Jr., Ted, and Leo Kovar; three sisters, Dorothy (Jake) Frickel, Delores (Dean) Glasscock and Joyce Kovar; nephews, Doug Glasscock and Doug Frank.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her niece, Debbie Frank, Staplehurst; nephew, Rick Glasscock, Minneapolis, Minnesota; great-nieces and nephews, Bobbi (Ryon) McVey-Blath, Staplehurst, Alicia McVey, Staplehurst, Brandy Glasscock, Lincoln, Gil (Mikayla) Frank, Seward; 3 great great-nephews; 2 great great-nieces and 7 great great-great nieces and nephews.
