Lawrence K. Patterson was born December 12, 1939 in Lebanon, Kansas to Lawrence and Caroline Elizabeth (Lattimer) Patterson and passed away on May 10, 2013 at his home in Seward at the age of 73 years, 4 months, 28 days. Louie attended country school in Smith County, Kansas and then Smith Center High School. On September 21, 1957, Louie was united in marriage to Sharyl Yvonne Ritter at Smith Center, Kansas and their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Shirley and Sondra. They lived in Smith Center for a short time following their marriage and then moved to Superior, Nebraska where Louie was employed for eight years with Famers Union Creamery and then for 21 years with Ideal Cement Company. In 1987, they moved to Seward where Louie was employed with the Nebraska Department of Roads until 1998. He worked for three years at Hughes Brothers in Seward until a disability forced his retirement. Louie attended the Hillcrest Evangelical Free Church in Seward and the Masonic Lodge in Superior and Seward. Louie is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Alvin J. Patterson; sister, Carol LeAnn Wahl and his grandparents. Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharyl Patterson, Seward; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Steve Lewis, Atlantic, Iowa and Sondra and Rob Meyer, Hastings; grandsons and spouses, Nathan and Julie Lewis, Bryan and Elizabeth Lewis, Jeremy Kort and Taylor Meyer; sister-in-law, Gesila Patterson, Hastings; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
