Louis John Kadavy was born on April 10, 1929, in Bee, Nebraska to Frank Henry and Anna Marie (Plasek) Kadavy and passed away on January 28, 2017, in Seward at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 18 days.
Lou grew up in the Seward area where he attended Leahey High School between Garland and Bee. He enlisted in the United States Navy on August 29, 1946, where he served in Guam during W.W.II. Upon his honorable discharge on December 4, 1947, Lou returned to Lincoln where he began working for Elmer Axberg as a bricklayer for several years. On January 27, 1951, he was united in marriage to Betty Louise Bargman in Greenfield, Iowa. The couple lived in Bee, where Lou was a mason and home building contractor. He enjoyed various hobbies including antique car collecting and restoring, attending auctions, and exploring different areas and ghost towns. He was a philanthropist where he loved helping friend and family when in need. Lou loved traveling, hunting in his younger years and being with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed drinking a beer with his friends, riding motorcycles and smoking a cigar.
Lou was preceded in death by his wife, Betty on May 16, 1986, his parents, step-daughter, Doris Scott, granddaughter, Abbie Elizabeth Kadavy, brother, Frank "Butch", three sisters Marie, Alice and Frances.
He was survived by his children, Nancy (Bryan) Roberts Sweet of Omaha, Jane Parkhurst of Scottsdale, AZ, John Kadavy of Seward, Dan Kadavy of Lincoln, Frank (Cheryl) Kadavy of Fremont, Tom (Millie) Kadavy of Lincoln and Anne Pfeifer of Peoria, AZ, 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren sister, Ann Foral of Lincoln, sisters-in-law Millie Lance, LaVerne Hyde, and Delores (Bob) Wilke.
