Obituary
While serving in the Army in Baltimore, Maryland and Seattle, Washington, he was assigned to the CIC. His career in the private sector began as managing editor of the Ida Grove Pioneer Record and the Seward County Independent. He later served as the Chief Copy Editor for the Lincoln Journal Star for over 25 years. He also taught journalism classes at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Upon retirement, he worked at Newslink as a writer and Concordia University as Sports Information Director and Website Manager.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie. His son Tim and wife, Jane. His daughter Lori and husband Tim Moravec. Grandchildren Adrian & Emilie Moravec, and Boden of Minneapolis, MN. Joshua & Yukari Moravec of Omaha, and Micah Moravec of Lincoln.
He is also survived by sister-in-law, Anna Mae Erickson of Wausa, and sister-in-law Jan Estes and her husband Norman of Kansas City as well as brother-in-law Jim Lindholm and his wife, Gayle of Carthage, TX. Lowell is also survived by many nephews and nieces who he cherished as well.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his brothers Lloyd & Leslie and his sister Lois. Also, Valerie's parents Raymond and June Lindholm.
