Luke was a 1971 graduate of Geneva High School and a 1977 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Luke was united in marriage to Margaret "Margie" Susan Kellner on November 26, 1977 in Touhy, Nebraska and they made their home in Pleasant Dale beginning in 1978. Luke was a retired member of the Pleasant Dale Fire Department and had served on the town board. He was employed with Nebraska Boiler from 1974 to the present time, most recently serving as a Quality Service Technician. Luke enjoyed hunting and fishing, metal working, automotive restoration, drag racing and pyro-technics. Luke will be remembered as a father, best grandfather and best friend. Luke is preceded in death by his father, Toby McMullen in 1996. Luke's survivors include his wife, Margie McMullen of Pleasant Dale; daughter and son-in-law, Angel McMullen-Gunn and Darrin Gunn, Seward; son and daughter-in-law, Lucas Patrick and Shelly McMullen, Denison, IA; grandchildren, Lucian Gunn and Alana McMullen; mother, Ruth Obrist, Geneva; step-mother, Mary McMullen, Bassett; special family friends, Ellen Day and husband Paul Terry, Pittsburgh, PA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cyril and Albina Kellner, Wahoo; sisters-in-law and spouses, Irene and Ed Scheidt, Prescott, AZ, Bernice and Dave Schiller, Chino Valley, AZ, Ruth Ann Kellner-Royse and Mike Royse, Lincoln, nephew, Trenton Royse and niece, Madison Royse and a host of friends.
