Lucile Marie Makovicka was born March 20, 1912 on a farm west of Dwight, Nebraska to John and Frances (Hottovy) Tesina and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on November 3, 2006 at the age of 94 years, 7 months and 14 days. Lucile attended school in and around Dwight, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Emil L. Makovicka on January 27, 1948 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight. To this union four children were born, James, Jerome, Steve and Thomas. They lived on a farm near Ulysses, where she enjoyed gardening, cooking and her pets. Lucile was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ulysses. Lucile was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances (Hottovy) Tesina, husband, Emil Makovicka, brothers, Emil and John III (Jack) Tesina, sisters, Emma Gruntorad and Frances Vanderheiden. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, James Makovicka of Ulysses, Jerome Makovicka of Ulysses, Steve and Dianne Makovicka of Brainard, Thomas Makovicka of Raleigh, NC, her grandchildren, Brandy and Kent Willett of Hospers, IA, Kristy and Thomas Sears of Raymond, Wendy and Steve Leu, of Colorado, Tyler and Brandon Makovicka of Raleigh, NC, her 6 great-grandchildren, a sister, Hermania Maca of Staplehurst, sisters-in-law, Rose Tesina of Dwight, Louise Tesina of Valparaiso, Alice Ruzicka of Huntington Beach, CA and Frances Makovicka of York, other relatives and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Lucile. |
