Lyle Lee Zimmer was born on February 4, 1933, in Seward County, Nebraska to Clyde and Marion (Lawson) Zimmer and passed away on March 3, 2026, in York, Nebraska at the age of 93 years and 27 days.

Lyle was baptized on April 16, 1950, at Beaver Crossing Christ’s Church, and confirmed on April 1, 1956, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Goehner. He attended Beaver Crossing country schools 24 and 25, graduating from Beaver Crossing High School with the class of 1951. Lyle joined the United States Army on March 26, 1953, and served until March 25, 1955. He was united in marriage to DeLoris Bluhm on August 22, 1953, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Goehner, NE. To this union three children were born, Steven, Michael and Amy. The couple later settled in the Beaver Crossing area where Lyle began farming and they built their home, moving into it in 1979.

Lyle was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Beaver Crossing American Legion Post 178, the Farmers’ Cooperative Board, the ASCS Committee and Seward County Ground Water Board. Lyle enjoyed going bowling, calling bingo for the Beaver Crossing Legion and selling Cargill seeds. Lyle and DeLoris enjoyed traveling during his time on various boards and with the York Fun Club.

Lyle was preceded in death by his wife, DeLoris Zimmer; parents; daughter-in-law, Bernita Zimmer; brother, Darrell Zimmer; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Don Bluhm, Gary and Jeanne Bluhm.

Survivors cherishing his memory include his children and spouses, Steven (fiancée, Sue Valenti) Zimmer of Plattsmouth, NE, Mike (LaShelle) Zimmer of Syracuse, NE, Amy (Dalen) Meisinger of York, NE; grandchildren, Amber (Ryan) Wilkins, Patrick (Jessica) Zimmer, Landon Zimmer, Savannah (Coleman) Orchard, Logan (Maelyn) Meisinger, Emily Meisinger; great-grandchildren, Alexi Wilkins, Elise Wilkins, Hendrik Zimmer, Malachi Meisinger, McCoy Meisinger; sister, Dorothy (Dale) Due; sisters-in-law, Jeanie Zimmer, Betty Bluhm,; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marlene and Loyd Erks; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
